Sweet Valentine's Day Transfer February 2019

District Council and Interviews

President Bednar interviews each missionary while Sister Bednar attends District Council.  I  always learn so much from these missionaries, they are wise beyond their years!  I am grateful to be surrounded by them and watch them grow in Spirit, too.  We have twelve days of interviews with two districts each day, each transfer.

Sister Training Leaders and Zone Leaders.

Zone Conferences
What, how and Why - Power in Purpose
In Northumberland with the Harrisburg and Williamsport Zones, in Brookville with the Altoona and Jamestown Zones and in Green Tree with Pittsburgh, Pitt West and Pitt North Zones.

President Troy Larkin and his lovely wife Jill, second counselor in the Mission Presidency, we love and adore them as well as First counselor President Russ Stankiewicz and his wife Barbara.

Time again for another group to arrive and a group to go home.  This is a long but exciting two days for all.  We meet the new missionaries at the airport on Wednesday evening then drive to the Mission Home where we feed them with food then feed them again with training, and put them to bed early, most of them have already been up since 2 or 3 in the morning to arrive here from the MTC after a long day of traveling!

The next morning we train again with their trainers until it is coming out their ears.  We feed them lunch then assign them to their trainers and send them off to their areas.  Some will drive 20 minutes and some will drive up to five hours away!  It is a long day, but they are excited and we love them!

A selfie from our assistants -Elder Stratford-coming in as a new assistant, Elder Hopkins, leaving as an assistant and Elder Waite.  They do the work equivalent of a 37 page document and proselyte. We are grateful for them!

We had some crazy weather last transfer, we were on the east end of the mission when a polar vortex sent freezing cold weather across the northeast.  Snow was also present, so instead of doing interviews at the district council, Steve skyped with the members of three districts individually in the hotel over a day and a half, so I was grateful to have a Walmart and other stores I could entertain myself at and the hotel lobby and a laptop while he did interviews. These are a few of the pictures.

One of my all time favorite streets in Pennsylvania is downtown Lewisburg

This was the forecast just a few days after the polar chill!

Some of our sisters are very creative about sharing the gospel, even in the snow!

The best part of the transfer is a new addition to the Craig and Brooke Bednar family.  Addy and Emry are big sisters to baby sister Callyn!  We are so happy for them, we are so anxious to see them and hold her, she is a blessed little one!
